ABOUT CMHR

"2007" Rescues of CMHR

Cody - 2007

Cody is registered with AMHR. He is a flashy bay gelding with 4 white stockings. He is approximately 33 ½” and 2 years old. He is a complete love bug and very gentle. His foster homers are about to start him in basic driving training getting him used to the harness. Lots of potential with this boy. Cody is looking for his forever home with kids.

UPDATE!  Cody has been adopted by Mary Dryoff in Lone Tree, Iowa!  He is living the good life, taking daily walks with Mary and enjoying being pampered.  Thank you Mary!!

Bandit - 2007

Bandit is a bay gelding who is 6 years old. Look at his kind little face. His foster homers says he has a nice personality and he is friendly. He needs some work on his basics as he was not handled much in his previous life. He does not like to be haltered due to a halter scar that was inflicted on him which is understandable, so you'd go slow with that. This attractive boy is put together like a little athlete. If you've got the time, Bandits possibilities are endless. Bandit has been in foster care for too many months and is searching for his new family. Please consider Bandit for your new buddy.

UPDATE!  Bandit has been adopted by the Soucy family in Georgia to be a companion for their mini, Biscuit.  Bandit and Biscuit are the best of friends now!  We would like to thank the Soucy's for opening their barn to him!

Sarah - 2007

Sara is a non-registered 10 year old mare, measuring in at 35" tall, and is the dam to "Chocolate", below. She is high strung and beautifully gaited and is still overweight. Her current foster home is working on helping her to lose some weight.  She is an alpha mare and is current on her vaccinations. This mare has foundered.

UPDATE:  Our hearts were saddened when Sara went to Rainbow Bridge in November of 2009.

Chocolate - 2007

Chocolate is a no-registered 35.5" silver mare that was foaled in March '01. She has a very beautiful head and is still overweight, but her foster home is working on that.
Chocolate is current on her vaccinations. This mare has foundered.

UPDATE!  Melinda Norris of Deatsville, Alabama has opened her heart and her home to this mother-daughter team (see Sarah below) for a lifetime of love!  Thank you Melinda!

Brutus - 2007

Brutus is 2 year old black gelding that has never been handled. He's very nice looking and very healthy.  We estimate him to measure approximately 36" tall.  The person that turned him over to CMHR had no horse experience at all and we all thank her for turning this boy over to us.  He will need a lot of handling and training prior to adoption.  We think he will come around quickly.  He's going to make one awesome gelding!  Currently being fostered by Kelli Crank in Oklahoma.

UPDATE!  These two boys (Brutus and Stewie) have been adopted by their foster mom, CMHR’s own Kelli Crank in Durant, Oklahoma!!  Thank you Kelli!

Stewie - 2007

This is Stewie (aka Tonka) He is a 5 year old Stallion that was rescued by Diane in Illinois.  She then surrendered him to CMHR and he is going to Oklahoma with foster Kelli Crank. Stewie is a 28" sorrel. He will be gelded prior to adoption.

UPDATE!  These two boys (Brutus and Stewie) have been adopted by their foster mom, CMHR’s own Kelli Crank in Durant, Oklahoma!!  Thank you Kelli!

Dandy- 2007

Dandy is a 9 year old gelding.  He is current on all shots and was trained by a youth in driving and obstacles. He has no known bad habits and has been around children.

Dandy is a very friendly, and personable horse, waiting for the right home.  He is currently being fostered in Alabama.

UPDATE!  Special thanks to Dandy’s new mom, Linda Vantresco in Ellijay, Georgia for giving him a loving forever home!  Thank you Linda!

Chip - 2007

The sorrel pinto is Chip. She is the matriarch and the dam to Rose, the bay pinto and Storm, the black pinto. She is very loving and will beg for treats.  Due to an illness of the former owner, she has been lovingly turned over to CMHR for adoption.  She is ready to go to just the right home. Chip is 8 years old, and is a very dominant horse (towards other horses), is gentle, easy to handle, likes people, and leads well.

UPDATE!  This mother-daughter duo has been adopted by Joan Milford in Texas.  Thank you Joan!!

Rose - 2007

Rose needs a little more training but is easy to handle with one exception...if Rose gets startled or nervous, she puts it in reverse and you better be holding on tight! Rose is a 6 year old bay pinto mare.  Due to the illness of the former owner she has been lovingly turned over to CMHR for adoption to just the right home.

UPDATE!  Rose has been adopted by Renee McArtor in Conroy, Iowa.  Thank you Renee!

Storm - 2007

Storm is a 2 year old black pinto mare and is Chips daughter.  She needs a little more training but readily wants to please! Due to the illness of the former owner
she has been lovingly turned over to CMHR for adoption to just the right home.

UPDATE!  This mother-daughter duo has been adopted by Joan Milford in Texas.  Thank you Joan!!

Jake - 2007

Jake was just placed into CMHR care, by a loving, caring person.  He is a brother Cody.  Jake was foaled in late 2004. He measures 31 inches, and is very cute and smart...just ask him!  He  is good about grooming, trimming, bathing and clipping.  He does have an underbite however, but is in good health otherwise.  He is current on all vaccinations.  If you would like to bring Jake into your family he is now up for adoption.  Please contact CMHR for more information.  Please be sure you get your adoption paperwork in to CMHR.

UPDATE! Jake was adopted by the Rivney family in Nevada.  He's doing wonderfully with his new family.

Cody - 2007

Cody was just turned over to CMHR by a loving person who would like to see him placed in a forever home. Cody was foaled May 3, 2000 and is 38".  He is very good about grooming, trimming, bathing and clipping.  He does have an underbite but otherwise is in good health and is current on all vaccinations.  Cody has been trained to drive and was very good at it.  He is a smart boy and needs attention.   Cody is currently in Arizona, so if you would like to adopt him please contact us.  Most importantly, you will need to fill out the required CMHR adoption paperwork and send in to us.  Whoever adopts Cody is going to get a wonderful well cared for and loved gelding!

UPDATE! Cody has been adopted!  He'll be enjoying his new life with Larry and Crissy Smith in Buena Vista, Colorado!

Splash - 2007

Splash was lovingly given up by a wonderful young lady in Lousiana. Splash had been raised next to larger horses so that was all she knew.  She is now with a mini herd in Tucson Arizona but still perfers to be with larger ponies.  She has foundered in the past and still has issues with that at times.  She now lives in her loving, forever home in Tucson, Arizona.
