"2009" Rescues of CMHR

Frodo - 2009

Frodo is a two year old gelding  who stands 29 inches tall and is the newest foster into CMHR.  He follows his foster mom around trying to "help" her clean the paddock by carrying the rake!  Sadly, he lost his best friend to colic just a day before he was surrendered to CMHR.  This little guy has been through a lot recently and is really in need of a forever home and a new best friend.  He is UTD on vaccines and has a fresh trim on his feet.  If you would like more information on Frodo, please contact CMHR today!  He is still in the evaluation period and currently being fostered in Tuscon, Arizona.

UPDATE!!  Frodo has been adopted by the wonderful family who also adopted our "Emmy" last year!  CMHR would like to thank Nancie and the Gang in Arizona for the wonderful forever home you have provided to our rescues!

Liberty - 2009

Liberty is a palomino yearling who stands at 39 inches.  Her foster mom is working on teaching her some manners.   She is current on her vaccinations and has been wormed.  She is currently located in Oklahoma.  If you would like more information on this filly, please contact CMHR today!

UPDATE from Libby's foster mom:  When I go out to catch her in the evening, she puts her tail and head in the air and prances off to the other side of the pen.  You can tell she is not the least bit scared - more like a naughty child.  If I take a horse cookie with me, Libby comes right up to me.  She has never shown any aggression toward us and has never offered to kick or bite.  She stands quietly tied and let's me pick up all four feet with no problem and doesn't seem to mind being touched or handled anywhere.  She gets along beautifully with Hope (another foster), the dogs don't bother her and she plays with my weanling filly through the fence.

UPDATE!!  Liberty or "Libby" has been adopted by a wonderful family in Aravaca, Arizona!  She is settling in great with her new pasture buddy.

Caspian - 2009

Written by his foster mom:  Caspian is a 2 yr old palomino pinto gelding with Buckeroo in his pedigree. He is AMHA/AMHR registered.  He stands 33.5 inches tall and is really a nice little gelding.  He is REALLY friendly.  No problem catching him even when he is out in the pasture.  He will just come running!  He is currently being fostered in Michigan.  Please email us today to find out more about Caspian!

He is a very smart young man and we are working on "staying in our own space"  at this time.  He has a tendency to want to walk "on" you when being lead so I have been teaching him where "his" space is.  He is a very smart horse and learns quickly.  He knows and understands the program here already and gets along just beautifully with the mares.  He is a pure joy to have around and I see absolutely no reason at all why this horse cannot be trained to drive and become a great companion for a child  if someone with children wishes to adopt him.  He is double registered and 2 1/2 years old.  Pretty palomino pinto with two blue eyes.  He is really a great horse!

UPDATE!!  Caspian has been adopted by a wonderful family in Missouri!

Miss Tennessee - 2009

Little Miss Tennessee is a 2 1/2 year old black filly, approximately 28" tall. She was rescued from an extreme abuse situation on January 7, 2009 suffering terrible pain from malnutrition, parasite overload, lameness, and was down and dying. She has never had any medical or farrier care in her life and has a body score of 2. She was brought to the hospital for emergency treatment where she spent a few days getting stabilized. She is presently in our foster care program getting the best of care. We expect a full recovery. Little Miss Tennessee is not available for adoption at this time due to her sensitive condition, but we will accept applications to be put on file for her future placement when she is ready. Miss Tennessee is currently being cared for in Tennessee.  Her story on YouTube can be seen here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HJXxSCoYGg

UPDATE!!  We had an enormous amount of interest and many donations made on behalf of Miss Tennessee.  CMHR would like to thank each and every one of you!   This sweet girl has been adopted and she is on her way to her forever home in New Castle, Indiana!
